FORECAST SYSTEMS LABORATORY — The NOAA Forecast
Systems Laboratory is a relative newcomer to the NOAA Research
network of laboratories. Its mission is to transfer technology
and research findings in the atmospheric, oceanic and hydrologic
sciences to NOAA operations and other federal organizations,
industry and virtually any users of environmental information.

APALACHICOLA NATIONAL ESTUARINE RESEARCH RESERVE: WORKING
LOCALLY, REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY TO PROTECT ESTUARINE RESOURCES
— The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve
is one of 26 sites designated by NOAA as a National Estuarine
Research Reserve. ANERR was established to provide opportunities
for long-term estuarine research and monitoring, estuarine
education and interpretations, and resource management.
